Mantra for a Peaceful Lockdown

Last year in the month of March a nationwide lockdown was imposed. Apparently we all were happy until the ennui set in. The lockdown has been egregious with reduced social interaction and increased social media! The social media was flooded with messages related to the virus some of them were true but most of them….you know it, were false! News channels were with their peak numbers then, and mental peace was lost with death of loved ones. As a student studying with these worries was a difficult task especially when the horizons of knowledge were restricted to online medium! The digital media lead to lack of concentration and mental peace!
Mental peace! I had been in these shoes during the last wave and I was suggested meditation. At first this idea of meditating didn’t please me but the results were way better once I had begun. I had joined a WhattsApp Group which was broadcasting a twenty one day meditation programme…..and the results were outstanding! The beginning was tough as sitting in a place with closed eyes isn’t that simple and meditation isn’t just that! With meditation I was back calm and composed with less anxiety and mood swings and with increased concentration and equanimity!
With the covid cases again on a surge we have the news media with their dreadful numbers. We are again locked down! But this lockdown, instead of focusing on the daily count of covid cases let’s start meditating for a peaceful mind. Let’s remove the negative and bring in the positive thought process within us. Let’s meditate and mediate with our inner selves to enhance the positivity in us!
‘Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom’ and one can embrace it with meditation! I feel with the fourth industrial revolution meditation is need of the hour. Just as we need to refresh our computer screen to avoid it from getting hanged so do we need to refresh our minds. Tolerance towards the situation is also a gift of meditation and during this second lockdown we would require it the most. I urge you readers to start meditating for five minutes at least and then increase the duration as you like it. Meditation gives positivity and energy to ace our day! Try it once and you will see the results yourself.

  6. If you have begun practicing meditation, endeavuor for thoughtlessness. It looks the toughest job initially, which is the crux of meditation. This method of being united with the Supreme Godhead is ancient and has the highest potential to connect you with the Supreme Soul and the resultant shall be peace only, which neither can be destroyed by any other outer object nor even by the end of life. It's the only thing that the soul carries to the next birth.
